Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Pork Belly
  • 1 lb Pork Butt or Shoulder
  • 1  Round Onion
  • 1  Large Tomato
  • 6 Cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 cup Dried Shrimp (Ebi)
  • 3 Eggplant
  • 1 bunch Long beans
  • 1 small Long Squash
  • 1 Tbsp Canola Oil
  • 1 cup Patis
  • 3 quarts Water

Instructions
 

  • Cut pork bell and pork butt / shoulder into 1 inch pieces.
  • Fry with smashed garlic and ebi until brown.
  • Add water 1 cup of patis and tomato (cut into forths).
  • Simmer for 1 hour or until tomato is soft.
  • Add eggplant, squash and longbeans.
  • Cook for another 45 min. – hour.
  • Add patis to taste.

  1. One cup of patis makes this dish for persons with heart disease or those that are sodium conscientious very unhealthy. 1 teaspoon of salt is 2000mg. Daily sodium healthy requirement is 1500mg. 1 teaspoon of soy sauce contains 900mg. 1 teaspoon of patis contains over 1000mg of sodium.
