  • 8 c. water, as needed
  • 1 ( 8 oz.) Portuguese sausage, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 medium carrots, diced
  • 4 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled, diced
  • 1 small head cabbage, diced
  • 1/2 lb. elbow macaroni, cooked

  • pinch salt, freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Stir in beans, salt and pepper.
  • Even better the next day.

Variation:

  • Substitute ham steak with ham hocks.
  • Simmer 1 ½-2 hours before adding in vegetables.

How To Serve:

  • Serves 6-8.
