Dashi, perfect for a good samin broth!
Ingredients
- 2 small dashi kombu (thick dried kelp)
- 5 c. water
- 1 inch ginger, smashed
- 1/2 c. shaved bonito flakes
- 2 tsp. Aloha shoyu
- dash MSG (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring kmnbu, ginger and water to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients.
- Allow to sit for 15 minutes.
- Strain.
How To Serve:
- Makes 5 cups.
