Chicken Adobo by Eli-Mac
Camile Velasco, known by her stage name Eli-Mac, has embarked on an extraordinary musical journey that blends reggae, R&B, and hip-hop into a remarkable fusion. In the kitchen, she’ll share her updated culinary skills by making Chicken Adobo.Born in the Philippines and raised in Maui, she developed a rebellious style that drew influence from iconic figures such as Lauryn Hill, Salt N Pepa, TLC, Erykah Badu, Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Tupac Shakur, Mobb Deep and Janet Jackson shaping her unique sound and style from an early age.Since her appearance in American Idolʻs third season Eli-Mac has released numerous singles and music videos. As a youngster she worked at her parents IHOP restaurant in Kahului.
Ingredients
- 10-12 large drumsticks
- 1/2 cup Garlic chopped
- 1 cup Aloha shoyu
- 3/4 cup White vinegar
- 4 cup Water
- 2 bay leaves
- Oil to coat pan
- to taste Sugar if needed
Instructions
- Boil chicken 10 minutes.
- Drain.
- Put oil in a wok or pot.
- Add half a cup chopped garlic.
- Brown chicken (3 minutes).
- Add 1 cup Aloha shoyu.
- Add 3/4 cup white vinegar.
- Add 4 cups water.
- Add 2 bay leaves.
- Cook on medium until sauce thickens (about 1 – 2 hours).
- Put sugar to taste if it’s too salty.
How To Serve:
- Serve over white rice.
- Serves 6.
