Korean Fried Tofu

An easy authentic Korean recipe. The perfect side dish for any meal!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 block (16-20 oz.) extra firm tofu 
  • 2 TB vegetable oil

Marinade:

  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tsp. sesame seeds toasted, crushed
  • 1/4 c. green onion chopped
  • 3 TB Aloha shoyu
  • 1 TB sesame seed oil
  • 1 tsp. Korean chili pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar

Instructions
 

  • In a shallow dish; combine marinade ingredients. Set aside.
  • Wrap tofu in several layers of paper towels; gently press tofu to release excess liquid. Allow to sit 5-10 minutes.
  • Slice tofu ½-inch thickness.
  • Warm a skillet over medium high heat. Spread oil evenly to bottom of heated skillet.
  • Brown tofu 5-6 minutes, turn and continue browning 3-4 minutes.
