Sake Soy Braised Short Ribs

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds boneless short ribs
  • 1 1/2 cups Apple Juice
  • 1 cup Aloha Shoyu
  • 1 cup Sake
  • 1 cup Mirin
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 quartered Onion
  • 1 quartered Carrot
  • 4 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1 Bay Leaf

Instructions
 

  • Season and brown ribs.
  • Remove from pan.
  • Add vegetables, brown and remove from pan.
  • Add sake and mirin.
  • Bring to a simmer to cook off alcohol.
  • Add remaining ingredients and bring to simmer.
  • Add short ribs back to pan, cover with vegetables.
  • Cover pan with foil and braise in oven at 325 for 2.5 hours.
