Salmon Shrimp Cakes

These salmon shrimp cakes are similar to the more common crab cake.. make them smaller for bite-sized pupu's or bigger as a main course.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. fresh salmon minced*
  • 1 lb. shrimp minced*
  • 1 small onion minced*
  • 2 TB sake
  • 2 TB cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. white pepper
  • 1/4 c. green onions chopped, optional
  • as needed vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl; combine salmon, shrimp, onion, sake, cornstarch, salt, pepper and optional green onion.
  • In a skillet over medium heat; drop by heaping tablespoonfuls; flatten as desired.
  • Brown on both sides in oil.  

How To Serve:

  • Serves 6-8.

Notes

*If desired, process salmon, shrimp and onion in a food processor. Both should resemble ground meat.
