Grilled Baby Octopus Skewers
Baby Octopus Skewers – a version of a Mediterranean dish my husband and I shared while in Washington DC at a celebrity chef’s restaurant. I have had other versions, at sushi bars, tapas restaurants, all different and all unique and wonderful. I love the flavors or lemon and oregano.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. baby octopus, thawed
- Wooden bamboo skewers, soaked in water 30 minutes
Garnish:
- lemon wedges
Marinade:
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2 t. salt
- 1 T. black pepper
- 1 T. dried oregano
- 1 T sriracha
- 1/2 t. ground clove
- 3 garlic cloves, mashed
Instructions
- Place marinade ingredients with octopus into a zip-lock bag.
- Marinate overnight.
- Massage it every now and again (this process helps tenderize octopus).
- Skewer and grill over charcoal until cooked through.
How To Serve:
- Serves with lemon wedges.
- Serves 6-8.
