Henry Kapono’s Lomi Opae
I can't believe that one of my music idols Henry Kapono is on Cooking Hawaiian Style. I grew up listening to Henry Kapono – C&K – It was such a blessing to be able to meet him and his amazing family. Try this amazing and simple recipe of Lomi Opae.
Ingredients
- 2 – 3 Ripe Tomatoes
- 1/3 Sweet Maui Onion
- 1 Cup Dried Opae (shrimp)
- Hawaiian Salt to taste
- 4 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 1 piece ginger, grated
- green onions, chopped
- 1 -2 tablespoons hot chili pepper water (or chopped chili pepper)
Instructions
- Cut tomatoes, onions in to bite-sized cubes, mix all ingredients and massage mixture.
- Serve chilled.
