Materials

Marinade:

  • 2 cups red wine
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • fresh thyme

Pickled Onions:

  • 3 cups red wine vinegar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 red onion sliced thin
  • 1 steak New York

Aioli:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup grainy mustard

Instructions

Marinade:

  • Marinade steak in 2 cups red wine, 2 tablespoons sugar and fresh thyme, 1/2 cut onion overnight.

Pickled Onions:

  • Bring Vinegar, water and sugar to boil in a sauté pan.
  •  Add onions.  
  • Trim fat off of steak.  
  • Grill steak for about 1-2 minutes per side.

Aioli:

  • Mix equal parts of mayonnaise and grainy mustard.

How To Serve:

  • Put mustard aioli on a serving platter.
  • Cut Steak against grain and lay over the mustard.  
  • Top steak with pickled onions.
