Tofu with Chili Chili Oil by Chef Deron Furukawa

Must Try

Deron Furukawa is co founder of Maui Chili Chili Oil alone with his wife Kit. Together they put chili oil in everything but couldn’t quite find a chili oil that stood up to their standards, so in 2020 they decided to make their own. This was their pandemic “pivot” project.

With baby steps, they embarked on their adventure together and shared their prototype with friends and family, and after receiving great feedback, created Maui Chili Chili Oil.

Maui Chili Chili Oil is made from natural spices and ingredients, that are cooked, assembled and shipped from Maui, Hawaii.

Tofu with Chili Chili Oil by Chef Deron Furukawa

In the kitchen we have business owner Deron Furukawa from Maui Chili Chili Oil. Deron and his wife Kit were recently featured on a segment of Good Morning America where they shared their wonderful chili chili oil. Maui Chili Chili oil sells bottled chili oil made from natural spices and ingredients, that are cooked, assembled and shipped from Maui.
He is the genius behind the recipe and product development, she is the marketing and back-end support. We put chili oil in everything. We add it to dimsum, to steak, to steamed veggies, to avocado toast, to fresh poke, to cup-o-noodles.
We've purchased and used a different brand but always complained about how the flavor and the crunchy garlic bits just doesn't hit the spot – so we decided to make our own. You can say this was our pandemic "pivot" project.
It was a tough 2020 for us too, like many other business owners. So we decided, with baby steps, embark on this adventure, also because our product is just soooo goood. We start this week with his version of Tofu and Chili.
