Aunty’s Lilikoi Mui
A new twist on an old classic, lilikoi prune mui uses lilikoi as the base with the addition of some new favorites such as dried mango, dried cranberries…basically any dried fruit that you have grown to love can be used in this updated recipe. In the old days, people used to bottle these up and give away as gifts.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pkg. li hing mui (dried plums)
- 1/2 pkg. dried apricots
- 1/2 pkg. dried prunes
- 1/2 pkg. Li Hing Powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup Aunty Lilikoi Passion Fruit Syrup or Passion Fruit Jelly
Instructions
- Mix water, li hing power and Aunty Lilikoi passion fruit syrup or jelly in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil and cook until li hing powder is dissolved.
- Reduce heat, add plums or prunes and stir for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and cool completely before serving.
